You’re Invited…

THURS. Oct. 24th

{This is our last gathering of the year~so come on out!}

So what exactly IS “Homeschooling in the Park?”
It is simply a time where mamas and their kids (plus any dads who can make it!) can come together for an INFORMAL day of relaxation, exploration, campfire fellowship, food and fun.

We will be meeting once again at the BEAUTIFUL Mingo Creek County Park not far from Rt 79 in Washington County, PA.
Click here for directions.

Our group meets from noon until about 4pm, but please come and go as you are able. Some families enjoy coming earlier to explore the park, and a few even stay through until dinnertime. You can do whatever works for you and your crew.

LOCATION: For October’s gathering, we will be meeting BACK up at PAVILION 7 so that we can have a nice toasty fire going throughout the day!
This location also offers picnic tables, wide fields, a large playground, and bathrooms.
It’s going to be chilly this week (45 and overcast) so dress accordingly.

NATURE WALK: There is also a (now, mostly dry) creek bed not far from this site, and a nice little trail that leads through the woods where we enjoy taking a monthly nature walk with the children.  The nature walk is usually around 1 or 1:30pm.

ALL ages are welcome, you big kids too, We ESPECIALLY need your help with the fire!! 😀
Moms, you may want to consider bringing along a change of clothing for your children, and camp chairs or a blanket for the ground or table. Again, we strongly recommend that your kids wear water shoes, rain boots, or some other play shoes that can get wet, as they will probably want to explore the woods and maybe the creekbed too.

Moms with babies: please join us! And bring your baby carrier if you’d like to do any walking, as not all areas are stroller accessible. We tend to park in one main location for the day, so pack and plays also work great to keep little ones safe, and provide a spot for napping if you stay through the day.

LUNCH: Each family needs to pack their OWN lunches,  snacks and drinks. We will have a fire going this week, so if you would like to grill out, bring your dogs and sticks, or whatever you’d like.
As we do each month, there will be a table set up for foods you may want to bring to share (desserts, marshmallows for roasting, etc), but this is not necessary.

This is our last get-together until March or April (earlier if we have decent weather), so please join us, and tell a friend too.  We’d like to especially welcome any DADS to join us this month if they are able!

Hope to see you there!
